The Basics

The title for my blog comes from the song "Come Thou Fount" by Robert Robinson:

"Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it.
                                        Prone to leave the God I love.
Here's my heart, Lord;
Take and seal it.
Seal it for Thy courts above!"

This is my journey:

In May 2010, I graduated from Charleston Southern University with a B.S. in Business Administration, an emphasis in Finance, and a minor in music. I was a bit ambitious, plagued by bravado, tormented by idealism, and chronically optimistic.

In September 2010, I moved to Chisinau, Moldova, approximately 5842 miles from my hometown, to intern with an indigenous microfinance organization.  My goal in moving to Moldova was to learn a new language or two, experience Eastern European cultures, and gain greater insight and experience in the implementation of microfinance.  More than anything though, I went seeking the face of my King.  My heart and soul longing to know His love in deeper and deeper ways.

"You have said, 'Seek my face.'  My heart says to you, 'Your face, Lord, do I seek.' " Psalm 27:8

I've been redeemed and set free to a new life in Christ.  I'm not perfect, but I pray that as I pursue my Lord, my faith will be real.  My prayer is that God will encourage, inspire, and challenge you through the stories and thoughts I share here.  May my blunders bring you laughter, and my heartbreak bring you insight.  May these words never be my own.  May it be guarded from my selfish purposes and be nothing but the simple testimony of the greatness and power of Jehovah.

It is Christ that works in and through me bringing hope and light.  May He be glorified in all!

"For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe." 1 Timothy 4:10
